The pair then worked the Coalville - Nuneaton leg of the 22:00 Ayr - Bristol 'Coal Scuttler' tour, before working the 'Coalville Swansong' back to St Pancras (15:20 ex Coalville).

Rescued failed 305519 on the 12:20 North Berwick - Waverley at Wallyford. 60057 was following on an MGR and was coupled up to the rear. With the 60 driver controlling the power, and the EMU driver the brakes, a maximum speed of 25 MPH was attained. The guard, using hand signals, was the means of communication between the two. A service stop was made at Musselburgh, before Waverley was reached just over an hour late.

Due to an EMU failure at Runcorn, the 15:10 Euston - Liverpool was diverted to run via Warrington B.Q. and Earlestown. It took the train forward from Warrington.

This was almost certainly the first passenger working in Scotland.
